This is a prisma color drawing on paper I did of a road in Hollywood California called "Roads of Paradise". This piece evokes fond memories of the warm California summers. I used a perspective viewpoint as seen by the lines of the road and palm trees in their changes in shape and form. The road is a deep blue purple that adds a sharp contrast from the green and yellow of the trees. The sky has colors that create a warm summer feeling and also show movement. I also cropped part of the road to keep a balance in road to greenery. I feel that the colors are vibrant and create rhythm within my piece. I used these colors to also draw the eyes down the road to better highlight the perspective of my piece. I also used the strokes of the colored pencils in different colors to create texture that is seen in palm trees. By adding darker brown to the trees I created trunk texture and value that is necessary for this artwork. If I could change some things about this piece it would be making the greenery look better as well as making the sky smoother. I also think I could have done better making my art more realistic by taking more time with my prisma colors.

1. The most successful project of Art 2 I found to be my printmaking project of the Sydney Opera House. This project forced me way outside my comfort zone. We choose a natural, historical, or architectural wonder of the world so I chose the opera house because I always wanted to visit Sydney. I went through 4 ink colors and 6 different paper attempts. I chose black paper which really helped the opera house stand out. I also added texture to represent the tiles on the shells that normally is brushed over. I made the print horizontal in order to better display the shape and size of the Sydney Opera House. By creating this print I was successful in advancing my art skills.
4. Mia's clay crab and Old Bay seasoning was an exceptional piece of art. She carved the details with precision and attention to detail. She was not familiar with clay but worked to carve and paint this piece to have exceptional craftsmanship like with her words she put on the seasoning. Not only did she chose to make crabs but she chose to make a container that used bright and vibrant colors that complemented the pair of crabs well. The painting of the crabs had great value that gave the crab a smooth texture to its shell. Mia definitely went above and beyond in her creation of this by having an original idea that was not a typical choice of other classmates. She also used proper carving tools and had no bubbles in the clay. I saw Mia as she was working and she did come upon obstacles but she overcame them and made her art better than before. Mia made a original piece of artwork that displayed the advancement of her art skills.
